Why should you check your Instagram Metrics?
Having a clear understanding of which posts perform well, and which perform less well, is very valuable information for your future social media strategy. Each social media platform is different, so the same posts will most likely perform in a different way on each channel.
Where can you find the Instagram Metrics?
To find your Metrics/Insights you can just go the your company's page on Instagram, from there you will have the option to click on Insights, this will take you directly to the Insights Overview.
The Insights overview gives you a clear understanding of the following metrics:
- Accounts reached
- Content interactions
- Content you shared
You can click on each part to have more detailed information on this. Keep in mind that you can change the period, which is automatically set on "Last 30 days".
By clicking on accounts reached on your Insights Overview, you get to the page dedicated to the reach. On here you can find an overview of how many accounts you reached and whether they were one of your followers or not. Additionally, you'll have a list of the posts and stories that had the most reach in the selected time period.
By clicking on content interaction on your Insights Overview, you will come to the page dedicated to the interaction, which is the same as engagements.
It will tell you how much and which engagement you've had for the selected period. Again, it will give you an overview of the posts that had the most engagement.
If you would like to know more about the people who follow your page, click on your audience in the insights overview. On this page you can see everything related to your followers and the growth over a certain period of time. You'll be able to view where they are from, their age, gender and most active times. The latter is particularly interesting to analyze and use for the time of posting.
